MEET THE TEAM
Want to find out a little more about the TEACH DIGITAL Erasmus+ project, meet the partners who are making all of this possible then just keep reading…
The digital gender gap persists across Europe – “gender inequality in the digital sphere is a result of the persistence of strong unconscious biases about what is appropriate and what capacities each gender has, as well as about the technologies themselves.” Women, especially those from migrant backgrounds, face higher levels of gender stereotypes and discrimination which reduce their motivation and access to the digital training.
Teach Digital thus has a clear objective: increase the ability and motivation of educators working with low-skilled, low-qualified women from migrant and ethnic minority backgrounds to use cultural and gender appropriate learning strategies and digital tools in order to make learning digital more attractive, relevant and boost their professional and personal development.
Our project has a strong and cross representational consortium involving 6 partners from 6 countries
Go Women Alliance
Go-Woman Alliance CIC (GOAL) was established in 2011 as a social enterprise which seeks to address social exclusion and increase innovation amongst minority ethnic communities. A minority-led organisation, their specialism lies with working with disadvantaged communities, including migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, women and young people. GOAL quickly became a lighthouse of support for individuals from ethnic backgrounds. For example, in the greater Birmingham area they help minorities – including migrants and refugees – move into meaningful employment or self-employment and integrate with society. GOAL also utilises their expertise in the field of social innovation and enterprise to help organisations develop their strategic and operational capabilities and work towards a quality standard that will help organisations to be ‘fit for purpose’.
