The European E-Learning Institute (EUEI) is proud to be part of a dynamic new Erasmus+ initiative aimed at transforming agricultural education across Europe. SMART SKILLS is a forward-thinking, multi-partner project designed to bridge the digital divide in the agro-sector and support rural resilience through innovative learning.
Why SMART SKILLS?
Agriculture is evolving. Small and family farms—often the backbone of rural communities—must navigate the twin transitions of digitalisation and sustainability. Yet many lack the tailored resources, digital competencies, or pedagogic support needed to make this leap. SMART SKILLS answers that need.
Project Objectives
Running from April 2024 to September 2026, SMART SKILLS aims to:
-
Strengthen digital literacy among small farmers and rural Agro-SMEs
-
Equip VET educators with the tools and strategies to deliver modern agro-tech and sustainability training
-
Share real-life best practices and practical innovations across regions
-
Build a scalable platform for inclusive and accessible agricultural education
Our Role at EUEI
As a digital learning specialist, EUEI is leading the development of the SMART SKILLS Digital Learning Platform for Microlearning. This platform will host interactive Open Educational Resources (OERs), micro-courses, and practical learning tools designed to engage farmers and educators alike.
We’re also contributing to the project’s Good Practice Compendium, Train-the-Trainer programme, and dissemination efforts to ensure maximum impact across Europe’s rural and vocational training sectors.
Who’s Involved?
SMART SKILLS is led by IHAR (Poland) and supported by a strong consortium of European partners from the fields of vocational education, agricultural research, sustainability, and rural development.
What’s Next?
Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing project updates, resources, and opportunities to get involved. Stay tuned as we co-create tools to empower the next generation of digital-ready, climate-conscious farmers.
